SRS17 Collaboration with Kosuke Kawamura
A collaboration item between Jimmy Cauty's masterpiece "SMILEY RIOT SHIELDS" and world-renowned artist Kosuke Kawamura.
Jimmy Cauty first painted smiley faces onto shields in October 2011 to protect his friends from police during the Occupy Movement, a global protest that was taking place in London at the time.
Hoping to prevent riots, Jimmy painted smiley faces on real police shields, calling them "SMILEY RIOT SHIELDS," and sent them to his friends.
The work gained further recognition when Banksy sold prints of "Smiley Riot Shields" in his Dismaland shop, and has since been exhibited in museums around the world.
